Shriyanka shoots for Asian airgun silver medal

Odia international rifle shooter Shriyanka Sadangi won one silver medal in the 10m air fifle women team event of the ongoing 9th Asian Airgun Championship, which is now underway at Tehran, Iran from December 3.

The Indian team for the 10m air rifle women event was comprised of Shriyanka Sadangi,  Anjum Moudgil and Suma Shirur. The ongoing Asian championship will conclude on December 9. The gold medal in this event was claimed by China. Shriyanka`s individual position in the exciting final match was fifth, while the top three positions were claimed by shooters from China.

This was the 15th international medal for Sambalpur lass Shriyanka and the 15 medals include three gold nine silver and three bronze. Daughter of former Odisha first-class cricketer Sitanshu Sadangi and Sudha Sadangi, Shriyanka is currently ranked No 3 in the 10m air rifle senior women category in India. She is now pursuing her Master’s degree from St Stephen`s College, Delhi University.
